Each fall, the Hutto Education Foundation awards innovative Education in Excellence grants to provide resources and tools that can positively impact student achievement and learning.
2011 Grant Recipients
1) $3700.00 – Inquiry based Learning in Science Classroom
Hutto High School Science Department – Mindy Roth & Kris Carter
Description: A grant to purchase probe ware used to incorporate inquiry based labs in the science classrooms
2) $2000.00 – Growing Minds
Hutto Elementary – Vanessa Henson
Ray Elementary – Sarah Barnard
Description: Create an outdoor science lab with square foot garden beds for cross curricular learning
3) $1000.00 – A Garden for Learning
Farley Middle School – Gina Covington, Greg Nestle, Keith Jones, Brandt Stiggins, Patricia McClellan
Description: Create a garden designed to be utilized as an outdoor learning venue for all grade levels and subject matter
4) $2300.00 – An Interactive Musical Experience
Hutto Elementary School – Loren Tarnow
Description: Utilize a new interactive projector in music room for all students grades k-4
5) $2000.00 – Jazz Education Program
Farley Middle School – Christy Anderson, Sean Smith
Description: Purchase music and instruments to begin a middle school jazz program
6) $4080.00 – Click It Click It Good
Ray Elementary School – Ashley Fulp
4th grade students will have access to a clicker tool that will allow instant feedback for teachers.
